Recently, WES CIC had the privilege of meeting with the Former Mayor of Walsall, Councillor Harris, to discuss our shared vision of supporting new arrivals from Africa and empowering young people across the borough.
Our conversation focused on two pressing areas:
- Helping new arrivals settle in the UK by offering culturally tailored guidance, orientation, and access to essential services.
- Youth empowerment projects aimed at reducing the risks of gang involvement and youth exploitation, while creating pathways for positive growth and inclusion.
At WES CIC, we know that when newcomers feel welcomed, informed, and supported, they are better able to integrate into society and contribute positively. Similarly, by giving young people mentorship, skills development, and safe spaces, we can help them build strong, empowered futures.
We are grateful for the opportunity to share our work with community leaders like Councillor Harris, and we remain committed to building partnerships that strengthen resilience and create opportunities for all.
